Our training courses are built for engineers working with real-time systems. Each program combines expert instruction with hands-on labs to help teams master RedHawk Linux, NightStar Tools, and SIMulation Workbench. Whether you need foundational skills or advanced debugging techniques, we offer the right course to match your technical needs. 


Covers the basics of Linux for those new to the environment. Recommended 1 week prior to instructor-led training. 
Duration: 3 Days  


Learn to build and tune real-time applications using RedHawk Linux and NightStar.


Topics include: 

  • Process management, memory sharing, and CPU shielding 
  • Debugging with NightView 
  • Profiling with NightTrace 
  • Data capture with NightProbe 
  • Tuning with NightTune 
Prerequisites: 
 
This course assumes that the participant: 
  • is able to VNC for the remote course. 
  • is comfortable writing programs in C. 
  • has some knowledge of the library and system calls of standard Linux (i.e., basic I/O operations, timers and clocks, threads and processes, signals, and how data can be shared between processes). 
  • is comfortable with the Linux command line, and with some selection of the available commands (i.e., gcc, cat, less, grep, and basic bash scripts). 
  • has done some real-time programming, preferably in Linux. 
The instructor and our team will be available to help answer all levels of questions during the course. 

If the student(s) is not familiar with Linux, we offer an optional course: 

  •  Linux 101 (Optional) 
Duration: Self-paced over a 30-day enrollment period


Location: Fully Online
When: Rolling enrollment (no minimum student number required)
Live assistance: Up to 2 hours of 1-on-1 QnA session with the instructor is available to each enrolled student

A self-paced course covering features and tools available in RedHawk Linux operating system.


Topics include:

Duration: 5 Days


A bundled course combining RH3800 with foundational RedHawk and NightStar training. 

  • Full simulation setup and execution 
  • CPU shielding, scheduling policy setup 
  • System debugging and performance tuning

 This course assumes that the participant: 
  • is able to VNC for the remote course.
