Digital Input Change-of-State Card
$8,518.00
Concurrent Real-Time’s Change-of-State (COS) card is a 64-channel TTL interface that can track the change of state of digital inputs at 100 MHz (10 nanoseconds). The card features an x4 lane PCI Express interface for high speed transfer of data to and from the card. Individual channels can be masked to disable change detection. A 10 microsecond clock is also output on pin DIO_95 that can synchronize other systems to the clock on the COS card.
Each request is reviewed by our engineering and sales teams to ensure configuration accuracy, system compatibility, and delivery requirements.
The CP-COS-64 Digital Input Change-of-State (COS) Card is an FPGA-based PCIe solution designed to monitor high-speed digital input transitions in real-time systems. With support for 64 TTL input channels and a 100 MHz base clock, the card captures state changes with high temporal precision, making it suitable for applications requiring detailed event tracking and timing analysis.
The card records input transitions as they occur, storing both the state change and an associated timestamp. This enables accurate reconstruction of digital signal behavior for analysis, validation, and system debugging.
High-Speed Change-of-State Detection
The CP-COS-64 tracks digital input transitions across all 64 channels with a resolution based on a 100 MHz clock (10 nanoseconds). Each channel can be individually masked to enable or disable change detection as needed.
Captured data includes:
- 64-bit transition value representing input states
- 64-bit timestamp for each transition event
This allows precise monitoring of signal changes across multiple inputs simultaneously.
FIFO-Based Event Capture
The card uses a FIFO (First In, First Out) buffer with a depth of 128 elements to store transition events. Each FIFO entry contains both the transition state and corresponding timestamp.
Data is recorded into the FIFO when:
- Any monitored channel changes state
- The 64-bit timestamp counter rolls over
This structure supports reliable capture of high-speed events without requiring immediate CPU intervention.
Deterministic Timing and Synchronization
A 10 microsecond clock output is available on pin DIO_95, allowing external systems to synchronize with the COS card’s timing reference. This enables coordinated operation across multiple systems or devices.
Efficient Data Transfer and Integration
The CP-COS-64 features a PCIe x4 interface, enabling high-speed data transfer between the card and host system. Multiple cards can be installed within a single system to expand channel capacity.
A 68-pin VHDCI connector is provided for connection to external digital input sources.
FPGA-Based Architecture
The card is implemented using an FPGA-based design, providing deterministic behavior and consistent timing performance required for real-time applications.
Software Support
The CP-COS-64 is supported by RedHawk Linux and integrates with SIMulation Workbench (SimWB) platforms, enabling configuration and use within real-time simulation and data acquisition environments.
Applications
This card is designed for systems requiring precise monitoring of digital signal transitions, including:
- Real-time data acquisition
- Event timing and sequencing analysis
- Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems
- Digital signal monitoring and validation
