Analog Output Converter Cards
Price range: $3,582.00 through $6,135.00
Concurrent’s CP-DA3218 is a 32-channel or 8-channel, 18-bit digital-to-analog converter card with a PCI express interface. The card is implemented using Linear Technology LTC2758 dual channel DACs. All output ranges are selectable on a per channel basis. The synchronous conversion clock source is generated by a low jitter PLL. Differential or single-ended outputs are supported via build options. Multi-board synchronization is supported with simple RJ-style cabling. NIST traceable calibration is included with all boards. A RedHawk™ Linux® driver with extensive API including DMA and interrupts is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
Each request is reviewed by our engineering and sales teams to ensure configuration accuracy, system compatibility, and delivery requirements.
Concurrent Real-Time’s Analog Output Converter Cards (CP-DA3218 and CP-DA0818) are high-resolution digital-to-analog (D/A) converter PCIe cards designed for precise signal generation in real-time systems. Available in 32-channel and 8-channel configurations, these cards provide deterministic analog output performance for simulation, control, and data acquisition environments.
Built on Linear Technology DAC architecture, the cards deliver 18-bit resolution with configurable output ranges on a per-channel basis. This flexibility allows engineers to tailor signal outputs to specific application requirements without additional hardware modifications.
High-Resolution Analog Output
The CP-DA3218 and CP-DA0818 provide 18-bit digital-to-analog conversion across multiple channels, enabling fine-grained signal control. Each channel supports independently selectable output ranges, including:
- 0 to +5V
- 0 to +10V
- ±2.5V
- ±5V
- ±10V
This per-channel configurability supports a wide range of signal generation requirements within a single system.
Flexible Output Configurations
The cards are available in both differential and single-ended output configurations, allowing users to select the appropriate signal type based on system design and noise considerations. Output signals are delivered through an industry-standard 68-pin SCSI connector, enabling straightforward integration with external hardware and breakout modules.
Deterministic Performance and Synchronization
A low-jitter phase-locked loop (PLL) provides the synchronous conversion clock, ensuring stable and consistent signal updates. The cards support multi-board synchronization through simple RJ-style cabling, allowing multiple units to operate in a coordinated manner for larger channel count systems.
With support for up to 400,000 updates per second, the cards are well-suited for applications requiring high-speed, deterministic analog output.
Efficient Data Handling and System Integration
The CP-DA3218 and CP-DA0818 include a 128K word FIFO buffer with DMA support, enabling efficient data transfer and minimizing CPU overhead. Conversion data registers are directly addressable, allowing precise control over output updates.
The cards also support MSI interrupts, providing responsive communication between the hardware and host system.
Calibration and Signal Accuracy
Each board includes on-board calibration capabilities, including:
- Calibration ADC
- Per-channel gain and offset calibration DACs
- Accessible calibration values
All boards are delivered with NIST traceable calibration, supporting accuracy requirements in test and measurement environments.
Software and Development Support
The cards are supported by a RedHawk Linux driver, compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. The driver includes an extensive API with support for DMA and interrupt-driven operation, enabling seamless integration into real-time applications.
An optional wave generation package is available, allowing users to generate continuous or user-defined waveforms across selected channels. Integration with SIMulation Workbench is also supported through an available I/O license.
Designed for Real-Time Applications
These analog output converter cards are designed for use in environments where precision, repeatability, and deterministic behavior are required. Typical applications include:
- Real-time simulation systems
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
- Signal generation and control systems
- Data acquisition and instrumentation
